BMI triples profits from last year
BMI has posted record profits for the past twelve months, despite the fog and security problems that caused so much chaos at London Heathrow during 2006. bmi faces bid from BA
Rumours are spreading throughout the aviation industry of a possible takeover of bmi by leading UK carrier British Airways. Any such bid, which is thought to be for a sum of more than GBP1 billion, would need to be approved by the relevant authorities, as a combined group would hold more than 50 percent of the total number of available slots at London Heathrow.

BMI, formerly known as British Midland has announced that it will suspend all flights to Paris Charles de Gaulle. No reason aside from a rather nebulous statement citing commercial reasons has been announced by the carrier, and the last flight on the route will be on March 25th.

BMI announces 3 more routes
BMI is to add 3 new routes to its expanding European network with effect from March 26th, when it will begin operating new services to Zurich, Kristiansand, and Copenhagen. The airline has also announced that it plans to increase frequencies on a number of other routes, and has placed an order for four more aircraft to meet demands.

BMI flights to Mumbai Cancelled
British Midland has finally confirmed that their daily Mumbai service has been suspended with immediate effect. Earlier this year an aircraft flying the route was found to have significant structural defects that may have led to a crash, and the airline has been unable to replace the plane.
