Virgin announces Boeing order
Virgin Atlantic has confirmed an order for up to 30 Boeing 787-9 aeroplanes to replace its aging Airbus A340 aircraft as it bids to improve its environmental credentials. The new planes, which will be delivered from 2011 are said to offer fuel savings of up to 27 per passenger, leading to lower emissions and better economy.
