The first ever direct flights from the UK to Lille in France are to be offered from Leeds Bradford by bmi from April 23rd this year subject to final approval of the service from the relevant authorities.
Lille is the third largest city in France, and lies in the northeast of the country close to the Belgian border making it a great place to visit on a short break.
Flights will take around an hour, and are expected to prove popular as an alternative to the Eurostar and Channel Tunnel services for people wanting a quick trip to France in order to take advantage of lower prices.
The flights to France are being timed to coincide with arrivals from Edinburgh and Glasgow to further increase the appeal for travellers keen to get to France from the UK.
