bmi to exploit duty Loophole

Published: 21/02/07

bmi have revealed that a loophole they have discovered in the controversial new Air Passenger Duty will allow them to charge a single rate for all passengers regardless of what class they are flying in.

Researchers at the airline found that if there was no division in the cabins on their aircraft, all passengers would be charged the same rate.

This means that he airline has now removed dividers between business and economy class on short haul flights to Paris and other destinations in Europe, which will save money for premium business class passengers, although economy class will still have to pay the higher rate.

The airline declined to make the same changes on their long haul flights to Las Vegas, stating that on such routes, their premium passengers would rather pay the higher rates rather than be forced to mix with members of the proletariat.
