The budget arm of BMI, known as bmibaby, has revised the winter schedule considerably this year, with many more services being offered that cover both ski and sunshine destinations.
In total there will be over eight hundred flights on the winter schedule, covering twenty European destinations. Typifying the changes the airline has made are the flights to Geneva, up by two thirds compared with last year. The ski travel market is one that bmi have developed well over the years and the airline has grown to cater for the demand. Geneva, as well as being a great destination in its own right, is also seen as one of the main access points to the rest of the Alps, so such a growth in flight numbers to the city can be explained by that.
Winter sun flights are also important to the airline, with several new flights added to the main Spanish destinations like Barcelona and Malaga, plus nearby Portugal and Italy. Flights from the UK are also available from several of the regional UK airports, which is a further benefit for travellers wishing to take advantage of a short break.
