BMI flights to Mumbai Cancelled

British Midland has finally confirmed that their daily Mumbai service has been suspended with immediate effect. Earlier this year an aircraft flying the route was found to have significant structural defects that may have led to a crash, and the airline has been unable to replace the plane.

The popular flights to Mumbai from London Heathrow had been operating successfully for some time, but the airline has unfortunately been unable to add planes to its fleet in time to manage demand on the route, and as a result of this and other commitments within its network, has been forced to drop the service.

In a separate development, the airline has announced that it will boost the quality of its business class cabin with new lie flat beds from June 2007.
