BMI plans more US flights

After recently announcing record profits, it seems that bmi will continue to increase its long haul operations in the coming year, with plans to launch a number of new services to the top USA cities.

Under the Open Skies Agreement that will come into force next spring, bmi will be able to offer flights to New York from London Heathrow, as well as many other exciting routes. It will almost certainly use the landing slots it acquired with the takeover of British Mediterranean last year, relegating the smaller carrier to offering flights from less important departure points.
