BMI is to restart flights between Heathrow and Jersey six years after the service was axed. Flights will commence on March 25th if the airline can get approval for the take off and landing slots, and will go on sale shortly.
The lack of direct flights to London from Jersey has been seen as a problem for economic development on the island, and the decision by BMI to launch the route has been hailed by islanders, who will now have easy access to hundreds of destinations via London Heathrow.
As well as offering flights, the British Midland flights will also act as a feeder service for airlines like South African Airways who offer flights to Cape Town from London Heathrow, and Emirates, who offer flights to Dubai.
