A good twin centre idea if you're travelling to the west Coast of America is to visit San Francisco and then drive south along the West Coast Highway through some excellent scenery to Los Angeles. There are plenty of attractions along the way including Carmel, and Hearst castle, the home of newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst.
You should allow a couple of days to do the drive, which is a little over 400 miles depending on which way you go.
Another alternative is the drive through the desert to Las Vegas, to have a few days gambling at one of the casinos there.
