With some 23 miles of pristine beaches fronting onto the Atlantic Ocean, and a location just to the north of Miami, Fort Lauderdale offers everything its near neighbour does in a smaller place, and has many attractions that ensure it is a popular beach holiday destination for people from all over the world.
Having distanced itself from its reputation as the Spring break capital of America, Fort Lauderdale is no longer the low rent scuzzy place that it once was. The sand is no longer sticky with beer throughout the year, and you can walk down a street without a drunken student mooning at you, but that's not to say its all gone dull.
