San Diego Attractions Near San Diego Tours
A guide to touring around San Diego. Find out more about the best San Diego attractions, local sights, and much more.
Around 15 miles to the south of central San Diego, you can cross the Mexican border and instantly find yourself in Tijuana the famous city of sin with its raucous nightlife, gaudy souvenir shops and street traders selling everything from Acapulco Gold through to photographs taken with their donkeys.
Easily reached from San Diego, there is a huge contrast between the neighbouring cities, order gives way to chaos, and affluence to poverty, and as tourists wander through the streets in expensive clothes, local children play shoeless and happy all around them.
Apart from the sleazy Avenida Revolocion, Tijuana's main tourist centre, you can visit bullfights, watch the locals play Jai Alai, and visit the Museo de las identidades Mexicanos, a fascinating museum concentrating on local culture and history. The beaches of Tijuana are also popular places to hang out and relax, and a day trip to the city is never quite enough and most people will visit several times during their San Diego holiday in order to take everything in.
