Riga is a city that likes to let its hair down and go a bit wild, particularly at the weekend, and there are many bars and clubs that are welcoming to foreign visitors, and bars tend to remain open until around 3am throughout the week.
When in Riga, it pays to go out with a few people, as it is not unknown for locals - jealous of the money that gets flashed around by many tourists to demand drinks - or your wallet.
