If there were a prize for most glamorous and iconic beach, then without a doubt, Malibu the home of Baywatch would win hands down. It's a great place to relax on the white sands, and hope that Pamela Anderson (or David Hasselhof) will burst through the foaming surf to rescue you if you get into trouble.
The Universal Studios complex has been running tours since the 1960s, and if you pay a visit there are several rides and you can visit the sets of many films. There are 8 restaurants on the site, and you may well see a movie star or two - albeit behind several rows of bodyguards if you stay for a meal.
