Golf is big business along the Costa del Sol, and many people every year choose the area as the site for a golfing holiday playing on one of the many championship standard courses that line the coast. Almost every course in the area allows non-members to play, and on arrival at a hotel, you will be able to book teeing off times and in many cases, pre-pay green fees through the concierge.
Bullfighting is also passionately followed, and many of the towns have their own bullrings, although aficionados will tend to congregate in Malaga, where the Corridas take place on a Sunday afternoon throughout the summer. Bullfighting is not to everyone's taste of course, but it is a major part of Spanish life, and a great way of gaining appreciation of the culture of machismo that defines the country.
