The most important and best known Festival on the local calendar is Marbella's summer feria which centres around the day of the towns patron saint San Barnabé (mid June), and is marked with parades, and parties that tourists are most definitely welcome to attend.
Otherwise, with a calendar that follows the Catholic Church, you will also be assured of major events around Easter, and Christmas, and carnivals along the coast celebrating the start of Lent (late Feb).
