One of the best ways to explore Boston is along the freedom trail, which takes in the most important parts of the city. It begins in Beacon Hill, and you simply follow the line of Red Bricks in the pavement, and they will lead you to the main points of interest in Boston's history, including the Magnificent old State House, the Bunker Hill monument, and the Old Granary Burial ground - last resting place of John Hancock.
On Museum Wharf, there are a number of different exhibitions regaling you with tales of Boston's seafaring past, although the most interesting is the Replica of the Tea clipper Beaver, where the Boston tea Party (a protest against British rule) took place in 1773.
