The city of Munich has two main football teams, TSV1860 (the Lions), and the rather better known Bayern Munich. Both clubs play their matches on opposite weekends at the Olympic Stadium just out side the city centre, which incidentally is where England beat Germany 5-1.
There are a few golf courses close to the city that allow non members to play on payment of their green fees, and these can usually be booked through the concierge at your hotel in the city.
Within a short drive of Munich, you can find yourself in the Bavarian Alps, and either be hiking and climbing in the summer, or snowboarding in the winter.
