A country that is truly a place of contrasts, Mexico is a place where new and old co-exist like nowhere else on Earth. Stretched across the Tropic of Cancer between the United States of America, and Guatemala and Belize in the south, Mexico is a world in itself, practically any kind of landscape you can imagine, from desert to jungle, mountains to beaches can be found within the borders, and the culture that resides within them is a blend of influences from American to Mayan, from Spanish to traditional Amerindian. It is the breadth of culture in Mexico that makes it such a vibrant and exciting place to visit.
Too many people visit Mexico and only see one side of the country, either the calm beaches of Cancun, or the screaming metropolis of Mexico City, but the best way to experience the Mexican identity is by taking little sips of the culture, and seeing several places on an extended tour of the country.
Mexico city is the 3rd largest metropolis in the world, and has some excellent museums, as well as an enormous football stadium, all the skyscrapers you could want, and a very exciting nightlife that revolves around tequila.
The beach resorts of Acapulco and Cancun offer visitors the chance to relax on white sand and surf, while Puerto Vallarta on the Pacific Coast offers the chance to whale watch just off the coast.
