Mexico is a typically Latin American country only in the sense that they love a good festival as much as the next man. The best times of the year to visit are around the Carnaval around the beginning of Lent, when the streets of all the country's towns seem to fill with parades and dancing, and everyone joins in the Party. On 2nd November, the macabre sounding Dia de los Muertos, the "Day of the Dead" is celebrated, and people decorate their houses with skeletons and supposedly, the souls of the dearly departed come to visit and party with the living.
