There is no reciprocal healthcare agreement between the UK and Mexico, and as such every traveller to the country should ensure that they have adequate travel insurance that will provide them with sufficient cover to cover expensive medical bills and/or repatriation expenses should they need to return to the UK, or be flown to the USA for treatment.

Should you require medical treatment in Mexico, you should be aware that many hospitals will require payment up front, and then you will have to claim the money back after travel.
