As further testament to their ongoing commercial growth, Lufthansa have agreed a pay increase of 3.4 percent for all cabin crew effective immediately. The move follows a recent pay increase for ground staff, and comes on the back of the German airline announcing record passenger numbers and profits for the 1st quarter of 2007.
Lufthansa, which is also said to be exploring the possibility of a takeover move for Spanish carrier Iberia, divested itself of several loss making elements during 2006 to concentrate on its core airline business, and has reported several record months thanks to the booming German economy.
The airline is set to aim for further growth in the coming year, and plans to add a number of new routes in addition to continuing with its most profitable destinations including flights to Hong Kong and New York.
