The local football team, Venezia play every other Sunday at the Pierluigi Penzo stadium to the East of the city, and you can get tickets for most matches - apart from the big ones with Milan, or Juventus, which invariably see out.
There is a golf course on the Lido, where non-members are welcome to play on payment of the 50 euro green fees. The course gets fairly busy during the summer months, and it pays to book in advance. Also on the Lido, there are water sports available from the beach, although the waters of the Adriatic can be a little on the murky side for many people.
