Zurich is a wealthy city, and the chances are, that hidden below the streets that you walk on are vaults containing vast quantities of gold and jewels that you are not allowed to see. The treasures that are on display reflect the city's merchant past, and include the Fraumunster, a 13th century church with superb stained glass windows added in the 1970s by Marc Chagall.
Also worth visiting is the Museum of Fine Arts, where you can soak up the works of Dali and Edvard Munch amongst many others.
Animal fans and children of all ages will love spending half a day visiting the 2,500 or so animals at the Dolder Zoo, which is one of the best in the world, and combines conservation with entertainment.
