Just 16 miles to the north of the city centre of Vilnius, you can find the geometrical centre of Europe in the small town of Bernotai. The museum that has been set up to mark this auspicious location is a large sculpture park with around 80 sculptures, including a large pyramid where all the other European capitals and their distance from the centre are displayed.
The 55 hectares of landscaped area is peaceful and gives you plenty of time to contemplate all of the sculptures as you walk around, and the park has become one of the most important attractions in the whole of Eastern Europe, attracting tens of thousands of visitors every year.
