The most important sporting event in the calendar is the Hungarian Grand Prix, which takes place every year at the Hungaroring circuit, and attracts Formula One fans from all over the world, who converge on the circuit in order to see the usual high speed shenanigans and hopefully even some overtaking.
Football fans are well served in the city, with no fewer than 8 teams from the Hungarian 1st division calling the city home, and with quite low attendances at the games, it is usually possible to pick up a ticket on match day without too much trouble.
