Kuala Lumpur is an absolute shoppers paradise with literally hundreds of options for places to spend your money ranging from gigantic shopping malls with hundreds of vast outlets through to the Jalan Petaling night market where hawkers peddle everything from copied versions of the latest DVDs through to traditional Malaysian pewter, and ornate jewellery.
Many of the shopping malls are in the area around the Petronas Towers, and fall under the Bintang Walk Banner. Prices are on the whole a great deal lower than in the UK, but are subject to a local sales tax, which you can claim back if you ask for a form before payment.
Haggling is expected in the street markets, but don't expect a huge discount.
