The local currency is the Moroccan Dirham. Most major credit cards are widely accepted in the main cities, and in most hotels throughout the country, although you should stick to cash as often as possible.
You can change money at the banks in most cities, although rates can vary, and you get the best exchange rate for Euros in cash rather than in Travellers Cheques. You can withdraw money from Banks in Tangiers, Casablanca and Marrakech - although you will normally have to pay a fee to do so.
