Getting from Stockholm's Arlanda airport into the city centre takes a little over half an hour and there is a rail service supplemented by taxis and buses to take you from one to the other. Once in the city, cabs are easy to come by, however the simplest way of getting from place to place is on foot, and much of the city centre is pedestrianised.
You can hire a car prior to travelling to Stockholm if you plan on making trips outside the city centre, although for a short city break shopping and sightseeing it is not always necessary.
