Lisbon has an excellent nightlife, and many of the best bars and clubs are in the area known as Bairro Alto in the south of the city centre near to the river. Many of the bars and clubs do not open until quite late in the evening, and carry on until dawn; so many people tend to go out after dinner.
Highly recommended bars in the area are Clube De Esquina, and on Rue Da Atalaia, you can find a selection of great bars including Portas Largas, where you can often see top name DJs perform.
The hottest club in the city is the large, stylish Lux, which has events throughout the week, and climaxes on a Saturday night. Kapital and Kremlin are amongst the best of the rest.
