If you're looking for a great night out in Istanbul, then head to the Beyoglu area where most of the bars and nightclubs are situated, and where the drinking starts late, and carries on until around 6am on the weekend.
Normally, you will pay a cover charge on the door, and drinks prices go up after 11pm, although if you get into one of the bars early, you can avoid paying the entry fee.
One of the most popular clubs in the city is Club 29 in Ulus Park, which regularly accommodates over 1000 people on its techno nights, and attracts big name DJs from all over Europe to perform.
Many of the clubs open fewer nights during August, and much of the action moves to the coastal resorts such as Bodrum.
