The current Etihad schedule of four flights to Manila per week is set to increase on October 1 to a daily service the airline announced recently.
The United Arab Emirates has a large Filipino population and they are keen users of the Etihad service to the Philippines from Abu Dhabi, so much so that the aircraft are often full. This is the main reason for the increase in flights to Manila to seven days a week, although there is also a strong tourist interest in the destination as well.
To emphasise how strong the demand is, the aircraft that are currently in use are Boeing 777-300ER, with a passenger capacity of 350 economy passengers and 28 business class. Filling these aeroplanes on a daily basis, as Etihad do, is a clear indication that demand is very, very strong.
