Fuel Surcharge Increase For Air France

Published: 15/11/07

Following on from many other announcements recently, Air France are the latest carrier to increase their fuel surcharge to passengers. Applicable from November 14 the airline has introduced a 2 Euro addition to their fuel surcharge on short haul flights and 10 Euros on long haul. These charges are per flight, so return flights to Paris would have total increase of 4 Euros. Air France also work on the basis that, should the price of oil fall under a certain figure and remain there for a period of time, the fuel surcharge will be removed. With this latest increase the carrier has said that an ongoing per barrel price of USD85 will see half this increase removed, whilst a fall to USD80 or less would see the increase removed completely.
