No visit to Penang is complete without a ride up the impossibly steep funicular railway on Penang Hill. The hill is some 800m high, and the slightly cooler air at the top is a welcome and refreshing change during the hottest part of the day. There is a Hindu Temple and a mosque to look around at the top, but the best part is the view out over Georgetown, particularly at dusk.
