The currency in Denmark remains the Danish Krone because the country rejected the use of the euro in a referendum, although many larger shops do accept them grudgingly. Credit cards are accepted at most restaurants, hotels and shops, although not in markets, cabs and some coffee shops. In Christiania, you will need to pay cash for everything.
You can exchange currency in any bank, as well as at many of the bureau de change throughout the city. Local ATMs will accept British bankcards provided they display the Visa or Cirrus logos.
Tipping in Copenhagen is not necessary; as all restaurants and taxis include a service charge within the price they give you, although it is polite to round up the bill to the nearest 5 Krone if the service is particularly good.
Every item that you buy in the city has a tax of 25% levied on it by the government, and this is not refunded even if you are from outside the country.
