Within spitting distance of Copenhagen you can get a ferry to Gothenburg in Sweden, should you want to visit, but staying within Denmark, a short trip out of the city centre, will take you to one of the excellent nearby beaches where you can frolic in the surf, or go sailing.
In Trelleborg, you can visit the excavated remains of a Viking fortress if you like that sort of thing, and if you do, you will no doubt be cock-a-hoop at the wealth of artefacts on display.
