Barbados Currency in Barbados foreign exchange rates

What is the Currency in Barbados? Find out what type of money or foreign currency you will need when travelling to Barbados. Learn about foreign exchange rates, Banking, Currency & Taxes...

The local currency is the Barbados Dollar, although you can use US Dollars and credit cards for any purchases. There are ATMs in St Lawrence Gap and Bridgetown where you can withdraw cash on a Visa or Cirrus card, and most hotels will advance cash from a credit card if you are struggleing to find a cashpoint.

On the whole the cost of living is quite low in Barbados, although the tourist restaurants and bars are a little cheaper than those in the UK, if you go to the local bars, you'll save a lot more money.

It is not wise to carry too much cash in hand when you are out in the evening, as pickpockets do operate in some nightclubs and bars.
