The simplest way of getting to the more far-flung areas of Fiji is to board a plane operated by one of the small local airlines and take a short hop by air. An alternative, and far more pleasant way of getting between the islands is to catch one of the many ferries and local boats that ply their trade from Viti Levu and take a trip to a quieter island.
On the main islands, there are good bus services to get you around, and connect the resorts to the towns so that during the day you can relax on a perfect beach that could easily be on a deserted island, while in the evening you can head for a busy club and dance until dawn.
