Cape Town is proud of the fact that it is the location for some of the best nightlife in all of Africa. Bars in Cape Town stay open until late in the evening, and many of the clubs don't even get started before 11pm and run through the night.
The Camps Bay area is home to some great bars, and is a place to be seen in the evening, while the Victoria and Albert Waterfront caters for a wide variety of tastes including several jazz clubs with live music, and some great restaurants. Many backpackers head for Long Street in the city centre, drawn by the eclectic mix of nightclubs and entertainment that can be found there. The biggest nightclub in Cape Town is Dockside at Century City, where on Friday and Saturday nights, the club hosts packed out evenings featuring big name DJs.
