Published: 26/09/07
Air France recently reduced their fuel surcharge thanks to a period of sustained lower fuel costs, but they have had to reinstate the surcharge as costs have risen once more.
Short and medium haul flights will see an increase of one Euro, with immediate effect, whilst long haul services will have a five Euro increase, again taking effect straight away. Air France will take these charges off again should the price of oil remain below USD75 a barrel for 30 consecutive days, which is what happened last time.
For UK based travellers, who use Air France primarily for short haul European services, particularly flights to Paris, an extra one Euro will not be too much of an issue, though it is indicative of a trend of rising prices once more, which often leads to increased ticket prices.
