Alitalia rename all classes

Published: 20/09/06

As part of their ongoing reinvention and re-branding programme, Italian flag carrier Alitalia has announced that they will be renaming the classes of travel on their flights to better differentiate the quality of service that are to be offered on board. The move comes at the end of a process to improve the services offered by the airline, and includes measures to increase passenger satisfaction on flights with better amenities on board.

On short haul flights, business class will be known as Ottima, while on long haul, it will be come Magnifica to demonstrate that the facilities and services on board are entirely different on long haul flights than on short and medium haul. The airline will now call Economy Class “Unica” on all flights.

Other improvements that passengers will be able to enjoy include better on board catering featuring more Mediterranean cuisine, such as freshly made Italian panini on all flights for economy class passengers, alongside the usual full meals that are also available on long haul travel.
