Following the news that BA was not allowing surf boards and some other pieces of sports equipment on board their flights Virgin Atlantic are pointing out that they have no problem with it, allowing one piece of sports equipment with passengers baggage allowance.
Virgin Atlantic simply ask that the item is within their size and weight limitations, and surfboards are certainly accepted. Of course Virgin are not an internal UK operator, which means Newquay, the UK home of surfing will not be catered for, although travellers looking for big waves can certainly book flights to Sydney with Virgin Atlantic instead.
The airline prides itself on supporting sport and feels as enthusiastic as the participants, wishing them every success for the future.
