As part of its ongoing drive for an environmentally-friendly business British Airways are investing in new aircraft and ground vehicles that are greener than ever.
The carrier has placed orders for the A380 Airbus and Boeing 787, which are the most efficient planes available. They will reduce fuel consumption by around twenty-five percent compared with older models, producing less emissions and also operating more quietly.
In addition British Airways has order new, electric powered, baggage vehicles that will be used at London Heathrow Terminal 5, when it opens in 2008. So passengers taking flights to Sydney, say, from Heathrow will feel they are doing their bit for the globe.
