Published: 13/11/07
As of November 15 British Airways will increase their fuel surcharge on all tickets booked from that date.
With oil prices reaching record highs the fuel surcharge increase by BA is not unexpected and is part of an industry wide action, many other airlines taking the same steps to mitigate their rising costs. Passengers on long haul flights less than nine hours in duration, for example British Airways flights to New York, will face a GBP10 increase, taking the total fuel surcharge to GBP48, one way.
Travellers on long haul journeys of more than nine hours, flights to Sydney for example, will see a GBP15 increase in the surcharge, making a total one way cost of GBP58.
