Qatar Airways Strengthens US Connections

Middle East based carrier Qatar Airways is strengthening links to the US by providing daily flights to Washington and also operating a codeshare agreement with United Airlines.

The flights to Washington will depart from Doha, commencing around the middle of August and using the Airbus A340-600, an aeroplane with a capacity of up to two hundred and seventy passengers. When asked about the feasibility of a daily service the Qatar Airways spokesman was confident that the research they had done analysing the situation would stand up in the real world and the route seen to be a viable one.

The other part of the airlines push West, the codeshare with United, will bring fifty other US cities into Qatar Airways reach, a substantial benefit for them. Of course United benefit in the reverse way, now being able to offer flights to the Middle East from a variety of destinations across the United States.
