Following hot on the heels of similar moves from Qantas and Virgin, Singapore Airlines has decided to reduce the fuel surcharge that it applies to all airfares by a massive GBP1 each way! This reduction of almost 3 percent of the charge comes less than a week after the price of oil fell more than 10 per cent on international markets, and has been described as a step in the right direction.
The airline now charges GBP28 each way on flights to Singapore from London Heathrow, although a spokesman has said that it will continue to monitor international oil prices and apply charges accordingly.
