Readers of travel magazine Wanderlust have voted London City Airport as the best UK departure point in a recent survey of more than 3,000 people. Other airports commended in the report included Inverness and Southampton.
The popular travel magazine has a large travel audience, and is cited as a major influence by readers on how they plan their trips. The survey was designed to find out what people liked and did not like about travel.
Large airports such as Heathrow and Manchester Ringway did not fare well in the survey, with readers finding them difficult to navigate, unfriendly and over complicated, although the fact that more destinations were available was praised.
The range of routes offered from London City is limited by the ability of the airport to handle large aircraft, but there are still plenty of destinations to choose from including flights to Rome with AirOne, and flights to Madrid from London.
