Middle East based Gulf Air has released figures that show an increase in the number of premium passengers it carried in 2006. More than 200,000 passengers chose to book their flights with Gulf Air in Business or First class in 2006.
The airline has increasingly targeted the premium travel market over the past twelve months by upgrading the interior of its planes and shifting its marketing focus to more upscale portions of society.
The figures are impressive for 2007 so far too, with an overall jump of almost 8% on many routes versus the same period in 2006 on many prime routes including flights to Bangkok, and flights to Bahrain amongst others.
