Commencing on 1 September Emirates will be providing flights to Newcastle from Nairobi, and vice versa of course, creating in the process the very first scheduled long haul flight out of Newcastle Airport.
Newcastle is a new airport for Emirates, giving them a presence in six different UK locations now and expanding their service further across the country than ever before. It is hoped that the link between the two cities will foster more trade between them, as well as the tourism opportunities that are present. Travellers from the UK make up a large percentage of the tourist business in Kenya, so Emirates have decided to offer the flights to Nairobi on a daily basis to start with, coinciding as it does with one of the busiest times of the year for African tourism.
Emirates link to Nairobi from their home in Dubai with two flights per day, so there are certainly plenty of opportunities for travellers to pick up flights to get there.
