With Osaka being such a fast paced city to visit, some of the most visited attractions are places where you can find some peace and quiet. The Tennoji Zoo and Nanko Bird Sanctuary offer some tranquillity in the city, Osaka Aquarium is not as peaceful as the zoo, but is the only place in the world where you can see an enormous whale shark in captivity. Osaka Castle Park is worth visiting throughout the year for times when you forget what grass and trees look like, and there are a couple of interesting museums in the area.
If you fancy seeing the city from above, then a trip to Umeda is worthwhile, as you can travel to the top of the HEP 5 Ferris Wheel, which has been installed on top of a department store, and offers great views over Osaka.
