In the middle of this insane metropolis, close to Intramuros, Rizal Park is an oasis of tranquillity, where high-rise buildings are replaced with trees, and congested roads by gently curving paths.
Most of the locals pass through the park at least once a day if they can, and it's probably the only thing that stops them going crazy. It's a lovely spot to relax and sunbathe on a hot day, and in the middle of it you can almost believe that you're in the middle of the countryside.
